An established construction company in Chicago’s West Loop is seeking an Operations Coordinator to join their team. This entry-level project management position offers a competitive salary of $65,000 – $70,000 and is fully onsite five days a week. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is highly organized, detail-oriented, and interested in developing their skills in construction management and project coordination. This individual will play a key role in supporting Project Executives, Project Managers, and Superintendents with project documentation, scheduling, materials, permits, and other project-related responsibilities. Responsibilities of the Operations Coordinator:

  • Support the Project Executive with updating CPM schedules and material expediting logs.
  • Maintain submittal logs in Procore, solicit and secure submittals, distribute them to project teams for review, input reviewed submittals into eBuilder, and distribute approved submittals.
  • Assist the Project Manager and Project Executive with project documentation, including contract execution, bonds/insurance, submittals, and schedules.
  • Help resolve problems involving material delivery and contracts/subcontract administration.
  • Assist the Project Manager and Project Executive with assembling necessary client documentation.
  • Support Superintendents with submitting permit applications, collecting building permits, scheduling inspections, and securing documentation necessary to close city permits.
  • Assist the Marketing Team with updating project and resume data, along with occasional office management-related tasks as needed.


Qualifications of the Operations Coordinator:

  • Basic understanding of the design, construction, and documentation process.
  • Ability to learn the team’s tools and processes and develop skills in basic construction management practices, methods, and documentation.
  • Ability to take well-defined tasks or small project assignments and complete them within a reasonable timeframe.
  • Desire to understand the company’s approach to projects and apply this approach in daily work.
  • Strong attention to detail with accurate data entry and the ability to accurately calculate mathematical problems.
  • Ability to develop and maintain schedules.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage project-related responsibilities and complete assigned tasks in a timely manner.
