Paint Production Manager (Night Shift)


Summary

Seeking an experienced Paint Production Manager to oversee night shift operations for aircraft painting and maintenance. This role ensures compliance with FAA regulations, manages production schedules, supervises painters, and drives process improvements to deliver high‑quality results on time and within budget.


Responsibilities

  • Uphold environmental, health, and safety policies on the hangar floor.
  • Ensure ongoing FAA regulatory compliance with repair station requirements.
  • Schedule and manage manpower to meet project needs.
  • Drive adherence to production processes and improve quality standards.
  • Act as liaison with customer representatives, ensuring clear communication.
  • Create and manage paint plans and schedules for each project.
  • Conduct start‑of‑shift meetings and assign daily targets.
  • Coordinate with materials, facilities, quality, and HR teams.
  • Manage project budgets, manhours, and material usage.
  • Lead training and development initiatives for painters.
  • Maintain facility standards with focus on 5S principles.
  • Conduct employee reviews and evaluations.
  • Support General Manager and deputize as required.


Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Paint Manager.
  • Minimum 5 years’ production management experience in aviation.
  • High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Knowledge of FAA regulations and inspection procedures.
  • Experience managing labor hours and budgetary goals.
  • Ability to wear respirators, coveralls, and fall restraint equipment.
  • Must pass DOT drug/alcohol test and 10‑year background check.
  • Ability to work night shifts.
  • Experience with 5S Lean Production, TQM, and/or Six Sigma a plus.
  • Supervisory experience including hiring, training, and performance management.
