An international company with an office in Stamford, CT is seeking a Payroll Specialist to join its HR team on a temp-to-perm basis. This is an excellent ON-SITE opportunity (not hybrid) for a payroll professional with 1–3 years of experience who is looking to expand their knowledge across payroll, HRIS, benefits administration, and employee support. The position will be paying 65-85K + OT and a bonus once it goes perm.
Key Responsibilities:
Payroll
- Process biweekly payroll accurately and timely, including reviewing and entering payroll-related data and adjustments.
- Maintain payroll records and ensure employee information is accurate and up to date.
- Research and resolve payroll discrepancies and employee questions.
- Assist with payroll reporting, reconciliations, and other payroll-related projects.
- Work with the HR team and other internal stakeholders to ensure payroll information is accurate and deadlines are met.
- Utilize ADP Workforce Now and ADP Enhanced Time & Attendance to process payroll and manage employee timekeeping information.
Employee Support & HR Administration
- Serve as the first point of contact for employees with questions related to payroll, benefits, and general HR matters.
- Respond to employee inquiries in a timely, professional, and confidential manner, escalating issues when appropriate.
- Assist with employee onboarding, including new hire paperwork, system setup, and coordination of onboarding activities.
- Enter and maintain HRIS transactions, including new hires, terminations, salary/pay changes, promotions, transfers, and other employee status changes.
- Maintain accurate and confidential employee records in the HRIS.
Benefits Administration
- Assist with day-to-day benefits administration and employee questions regarding benefit plans.
- Support benefits enrollment and qualifying life event changes.
- Assist with maintaining accurate benefits and employee data in the HRIS.
- Work with internal teams and benefit providers as needed to resolve employee issues.
Qualifications:
- 1–3 years of hands-on payroll experience in a corporate environment.
- ADP Workforce Now experience required
- Experience with ADP Enhanced Time & Attendance is highly desirable.
- Working knowledge of HRIS systems and HR processes.
- Exposure to benefits administration and employee onboarding.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- Comfortable answering employee questions and providing a high level of customer service.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
