An international company with an office in Stamford, CT is seeking a Payroll Specialist to join its HR team on a temp-to-perm basis. This is an excellent ON-SITE opportunity (not hybrid) for a payroll professional with 1–3 years of experience who is looking to expand their knowledge across payroll, HRIS, benefits administration, and employee support. The position will be paying 65-85K + OT and a bonus once it goes perm.


Key Responsibilities:

Payroll

  • Process biweekly payroll accurately and timely, including reviewing and entering payroll-related data and adjustments.
  • Maintain payroll records and ensure employee information is accurate and up to date.
  • Research and resolve payroll discrepancies and employee questions.
  • Assist with payroll reporting, reconciliations, and other payroll-related projects.
  • Work with the HR team and other internal stakeholders to ensure payroll information is accurate and deadlines are met.
  • Utilize ADP Workforce Now and ADP Enhanced Time & Attendance to process payroll and manage employee timekeeping information.


Employee Support & HR Administration

  • Serve as the first point of contact for employees with questions related to payroll, benefits, and general HR matters.
  • Respond to employee inquiries in a timely, professional, and confidential manner, escalating issues when appropriate.
  • Assist with employee onboarding, including new hire paperwork, system setup, and coordination of onboarding activities.
  • Enter and maintain HRIS transactions, including new hires, terminations, salary/pay changes, promotions, transfers, and other employee status changes.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential employee records in the HRIS.


Benefits Administration

  • Assist with day-to-day benefits administration and employee questions regarding benefit plans.
  • Support benefits enrollment and qualifying life event changes.
  • Assist with maintaining accurate benefits and employee data in the HRIS.
  • Work with internal teams and benefit providers as needed to resolve employee issues.


Qualifications:

  • 1–3 years of hands-on payroll experience in a corporate environment.
  • ADP Workforce Now experience required
  • Experience with ADP Enhanced Time & Attendance is highly desirable.
  • Working knowledge of HRIS systems and HR processes.
  • Exposure to benefits administration and employee onboarding.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Comfortable answering employee questions and providing a high level of customer service.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
