Job opening
Production Manager

Full job description
Production is where our promise to customers actually gets made — on time, at spec, and safe. As Production Manager, you'll own the manufacturing, repackaging, and sorting operations on your shift, keeping the floor running efficiently while holding the line on safety, quality, and cost. You'll be the person closest to the work: solving problems in real time, keeping every department in sync, and making sure the numbers — volume, waste, cost, service — land where they need to.
This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, short-lead-time environment and knows how to turn a busy shift into a well-run one.
If you’re ready to take the next step in your career and want a role where your ideas and initiative genuinely matter, we’d love to meet you.
What You’ll Do
- Own production activities in a fast-moving, cost-sensitive environment with short lead times, customer-specific requirements, and complex regulatory demands.
- Review production reports, orders, and schedules — product types, quantities, specs, delivery dates — to keep operations running at their best.
- Troubleshoot operational, manufacturing, and maintenance issues in real time to control costs and avoid delays.
- Keep equipment maintained and running at optimum performance and utilization.
- Build and refine standard operating practices, and coach the floor to follow them consistently.
- Coordinate daily with Production Leads, Safety, Receiving, Shipping, Dispatch, and Maintenance to keep everyone pulling in the same direction.
- Champion a shared vision and goal alignment across every function that touches the production floor.
- Support long-term growth by planning and executing strategies that get the most out of your equipment and your people.
- Drive financial performance: monitor inventory, cut waste and shrinkage, and find new ways to boost productivity.
- Establish and maintain the quality standards and service levels that keep customers satisfied.
- Meet and exceed the performance standards set by leadership, and hit the financial goals set by the senior team.
- Ensure compliance with company policy and continuously improve processes within your area.
- Direct, coordinate, and evaluate production activities on shift — interviewing, hiring, training, scheduling, coaching, and addressing performance and conflict as it comes up.
- Promote the health and safety of your team above all else, and champion company safety policy and industry standards on the floor.
- Stay steady under pressure and keep the team working well together, even on the busiest shifts.
What You'll Bring
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or Operations Management or a related field. Relevant experience may substitute for education at a 2:1 ratio (2 years' experience = 1 year of education).
- A track record of leading production or manufacturing teams in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment — food, produce, or perishables experience is a strong plus.
- Comfort managing budget and cost control, reading production data, and making fast, practical decisions with incomplete information.
- Flexibility to work a schedule that follows operational needs, including some evenings and weekends..
- Bilingual English/Spanish strongly preferred, to support a Spanish-dominant workforce.
Why Join Us?
You'll have real ownership: setting strategy and shaping company culture around doing the work right, not just fast. Working across teams to turn ideas into initiatives with visible impact. If you're the kind of leader who spots the opportunity before being asked, we want to hear from you.
