QC Chemist - Permanent, Direct Hire

Hauppague, NY

Monday-Friday 8:30am-5:00pm


Duties and Responsibilities

The Chemist's core responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Perform routine testing and analysis within an assigned group or department.
  • Carry out advanced and critical testing as needed.
  • Operate specialized equipment and perform testing that requires specialized skills.
  • Apply working knowledge of raw material testing and release procedures.
  • Demonstrate working knowledge of laboratory instrumentation, including Karl Fischer titration, HPLC, GC, particle size analysis, and ICP.
  • Lead investigations as required.
  • Maintain compliance with all data integrity and cGMP standards, procedures, and expectations.
  • Maintain compliance with good documentation practices.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Head of Department or Section Head.


Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree (BS or BA) in a physical science is required; a Master's degree is preferred.
  • Chemist III level requires a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience.
  • Proficiency in English (as a first or second language), including the ability to read, write, and communicate scientific work clearly.
  • Strong organizational, learning, and teaching abilities to support effective teamwork.
  • Ability to interpret and analyze complex data sets.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and other relevant scientific software.
  • Experience with inhalation products (DPI) is a plus.


Working Conditions

This position operates within a cGMP laboratory or manufacturing environment requiring personal protective equipment, which may include uniforms, lab coats, safety glasses, respiratory protection, and hearing protection. The role involves working with or near solvents, powders, and other materials typical of a pharmaceutical lab or manufacturing setting. Shift assignments (day, evening, or night) may apply, and weekend or holiday work may be required.


Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand or walk unassisted for 75% or more of an 8-hour shift; occasional unassisted lifting of up to 10 kg may be required.
  • Ability to wear appropriate personal protective equipment as needed at all times.
  • Ability to sit at a desk or work at a computer/screen for 75% or more of an 8-hour shift.
