Job Title: QC Chemist

Work Location: Suffolk County, New York

Summary:

The QC Chemist is responsible for performing a variety of analytical and investigative tasks in a laboratory environment, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and supporting the quality control process.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine and advanced analytical testing within a laboratory group or department, utilizing specialized equipment as needed.
  • Operate and maintain instruments such as HPLC, GC, Karl Fisher, ICP, and particle size analyzers for raw material and product testing.
  • Lead and participate in investigation activities related to laboratory results or processes.
  • Ensure strict adherence to cGMP practices, data integrity, and good documentation standards in all laboratory activities.
  • Conduct raw material testing and release, ensuring compliance with established protocols and specifications.
  • Collaborate with team members to support continuous improvement and knowledge sharing within the laboratory setting.
  • Follow all safety protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment, and work with various chemicals and materials found in a laboratory or manufacturing environment.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by department leadership, including shift work and potential weekend or holiday assignments.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in physical sciences required; Master's degree preferred.
  • Proficiency in English (spoken, read, and written) for scientific communication.
  • Strong organizational, learning, and teaching skills for effective teamwork.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret complex data sets.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office and scientific software applications.
  • Working knowledge of analytical instruments such as HPLC, GC, Karl Fisher, ICP, and particle size analyzers.
  • Experience with inhalation products (DPI) is a plus.
  • Ability to work standing or walking unassisted for most of an 8-hour shift and lift up to 10 kg as needed.
  • Ability to wear personal protective equipment and work with laboratory chemicals and materials.
  • Willingness to work assigned shifts, including possible weekends or holidays.
