About The Phoenix Group

TPG is a boutique staffing firm headquartered in Midtown Manhattan. We place professionals across Technology, Accounting & Finance, Legal, Administrative, and Human Resources on both direct hire and consulting engagements. The Professional Services Group covers Legal, Administrative, HR, and Operations — a practice that spans everything from first-day executive assistants to senior paralegals at AmLaw firms. We are growing this division deliberately, and this hire is central to that growth.

The Role

You’ll run a full-cycle desk placing legal and administrative professionals across law firms, financial services companies, and corporate environments on direct hire and consulting engagements. This is a relationship-first role and the professionals you place have long careers, move between organizations, and refer colleagues. The recruiters who succeed here are the ones who treat every candidate interaction as the start of a long-term relationship, not a transaction.

You’ll manage multiple searches at once, develop your own client relationships, and have real input into how the Professional Services division grows. High performers in this role have moved into client ownership, practice leadership, and team management. The path is open and tied to what you produce

What you'll do

  • Manage full-cycle recruiting for legal and administrative roles: source, screen, present, and close candidates on both direct hire and consulting placements
  • Build and maintain deep candidate pipelines in your practice areas — you should know who’s actively looking, who’s open to the right conversation, and who to call when a client needs
  • Develop and own client relationships: understand what each client actually needs (not just what’s on the job description), advise on market realities, and deliver candidates
  • Partner with hiring managers and client contacts to align on role requirements, compensation benchmarks, and candidate profiles before sourcing begins
  • Manage the offer and onboarding process through start date; stay in contact post-placement to drive repeat business, referrals, and long-term account growth
  • Leverage Bullhorn ATS, LinkedIn Recruiter, and AI-powered sourcing tools to work efficiently across multiple active searched
  • Contribute market intelligence on compensation trends, talent availability, and competitor activity that helps TPG position the Professional Services division more effectively
  • Mentor junior team members as your tenure and performance grow — sharing candidate relationship strategies, client communication approaches, and process

Roles You’ll Recruit for

  • Paralegals & Legal Assistants
  • Litigation Support P
  • Executive Assistants
  • Admin Assistants
  • Office Managers
  • Human Resources
  • Operations
  • Business Support (Direct Hire & consulting)

What We’re Looking for

  • 3+ years of agency staffing experience — this is a hard requirement. In-house talent acquisition or corporate HR experience does not substitute for agency recruiting
  • Demonstrated experience placing legal, administrative, HR, or operations professionals; direct experience with law firm clients is a plus
  • A track record you can speak to: you know your placement numbers, your client retention, and what makes you different from the recruiter at the comepeting agency
  • Genuine relationship instincts — you remember candidates, follow up without being prompted, and build networks that pay off over months and years, not just on the current search
  • Client development ability: you’re comfortable asking for business, managing client expectations, and pushing back when a req isn’t going to be fillable
  • Strong written and verbal communication that reflects well on you and on TPG — your emails and calls are clear, professional, and candidates
  • Ability to manage multiple searches simultaneously without losing quality
  • Bullhorn ATS experience is a plus; comfort with LinkedIn Recruiter and AI sourcing tool
