Full job description

Regional Safety Manager

Movement Search and Delivery is working with one of the fastest-growing specialty industrial services organizations in North America in the Northern New Jersey / Greater New York Metro area to identify and evaluate a Regional Safety Manager.

About the Role:

This is a newly created position driven by growth, not a backfill.

Over the past several years, the company has grown from approximately 350 employees to nearly 2,000 through a combination of strong organic growth and multiple strategic acquisitions. Continued expansion is creating significant leadership and long-term career opportunities across the organization.

The Regional Safety Manager will provide safety leadership across the New York metropolitan region and portions of the Northeast. This individual will partner closely with field operations, coach safety professionals, support major customer projects, and lead regional safety initiatives.

This is a highly visible, field-focused position with approximately 60% of the role spent in the field and 40% in the office.

Compensation: $120,000–$140,000 base salary, with flexibility up to approximately $150,000 for an exceptional candidate, plus an annual performance bonus of approximately 10%.

What You Will Do:

  • Provide safety leadership across the New York metropolitan region and portions of the Northeast
  • Partner closely with operational leadership and field teams
  • Coach and mentor field safety professionals
  • Support major customer projects and regional safety initiatives
  • Influence safety performance across a large field organization without relying on direct reporting authority
  • Build strong relationships with field employees and operational leaders
  • Help strengthen a safety culture centered on coaching, mentoring, and employee development
  • Spend approximately 60% of your time in field operations
  • Provide leadership to temporary project safety personnel when assigned to major customer projects

What You Need to Succeed:

  • Approximately 10–14 years of safety leadership experience
  • Strong field safety leadership background
  • Experience influencing large, field-based organizations
  • OSHA 30 required
  • CHST preferred
  • ASP or CSP is a plus
  • Experience in construction, heavy civil, industrial contracting, utilities, infrastructure, specialty contracting, heavy equipment services, industrial services, field services, or union environments is preferred
  • Strong coaching, mentoring, communication, and relationship-building skills
  • Ability to partner effectively with operations and influence teams without direct authority
  • A hands-on leadership style and willingness to spend significant time in the field

Industry-specific experience is not required. The company is willing to train the right candidate on the technical aspects of its business. Leadership has emphasized that strong field safety leadership experience is far more important than industry-specific experience.

The organization views safety as a strategic business function rather than simply a compliance role. The leadership team is highly engaged in field operations and believes in leading alongside employees rather than managing from an office.
