Viscardi, a modern medical case management and consulting firm, is looking for Full-Time Nurse Case Manager with a New York State Nursing License.
We're looking for a Nurse Case Manager passionate about innovating outdated medical claims processes and bringing human-to-human care back to the workers' compensation industry.
This is a Full-Time position in Nurse Case Management and Utilization Review (NYS PAR Review), on a hybrid schedule. Candidates must be comfortable with computers and tracking/reporting progress via online systems and able to process information and execute quickly.
Your Responsibilities: • Prior Authorization Requests • Review Prior Authorization requests, ensuring the proposed treatment is compensable for the specified work-related injury. • Nurse Case Management • Telephonically assess, plan, implement and coordinate case management activities associated with an injured employee. • Coordinate and ensure proper delivery and oversight of medical and disability services. • Perform pre-certification for prescribed treatment by gathering relevant data through clinical interviews with the injured worker, provider(s), and employer. • Assess and identify barriers to recovery. • Plan a proactive course of action to enhance the injured employee's short and long-term outcomes. • Determine goals, objectives, and potential alternatives to care for the injured worker. • Evaluate the patient’s treatment plan and coordinate proper delivery of medical and rehabilitative services using cost containment strategies. • Provide medical and disability education. • Assist employers in developing transitional, sedentary, or modified job duties based on the injured worker's functional capacity. • Monitor, evaluate, and document case management activities and outcomes including, but not limited to: case management approaches, over/underutilization, inappropriate care, effective treatment, permanent or temporary loss of function, failed or premature return to work, and non-compliance.
Qualifications and Competencies • Active NYS Nursing License • BSN Degree or other Bachelor's degree required • Additional state nursing licenses or compact nursing license a plus • Additional certifications are preferred: Certified Case Manager (CCM), Certified Disability Manager (CDMS), Certified Occupational Health Nurse (COHN or COHN-S), Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC), or Certified Rehabilitation Registered Nurse (CRRN) • Computer proficiency • Experience with Microsoft Office, Gmail, Google Docs • Bilingual in English/Spanish a plus
Job Type: Full-Time, Salary ($80,000-$90,000 annually)
Benefits: • Yearly, performance related bonus. • Part-time employees may qualify for other benefits based on eligibility and company policy.
