Job Title: Research Associate Scientific III

Pay: 50 - 54/hr on W2 all-inclusive

Location: Deerfield, IL

Duration: 12 months


Position Summary

Contribute solid technical knowledge to a variety of R&D projects within Advanced Surgery. Conduct routine and non-routine research, design experiments with minimal assistance, and support biomaterials scale-up from lab-scale to manufacturing. The role requires moderate technical understanding of areas such as pH, temperature-controlled reactions, and chemical reactions, along with compliance to QSR, safety, , and related regulatory requirements.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Independently make sound technical recommendations regarding routine projects and matters.
  • Provide analysis and redesign of key experimental procedures.
  • Select techniques and procedures independently to solve problems within area of responsibility.
  • Execute routine assignments successfully within negotiated deadlines.
  • Identify alternative methods and technologies for improving existing or new products/processes.
  • Maintain knowledge of relevant QSR and safety requirements while building knowledge of other R&D regulatory requirements.
  • Support manufacturability and scale-up of biomaterials from lab-scale experiments to manufacturing production.
  • Contribute to technical feasibility analysis of complex research and design concepts.
  • Monitor budgets and/or activity schedules of external testing, including communication, shipment, analysis of results, and documentation.
  • Apply technical theories and principles to projects within area of expertise for non-routine tasks.
  • Analyze and determine best solutions to non-routine experimental design or research problems with minimal assistance.
  • Accurately assess results for validity and conformance to specifications.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a scientific discipline with at least 3–6 years lab experience, or MS with at least 1–2 years of experience.
  • Relevant laboratory skills, writing skills, and computer skills.
  • Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills.
  • Research lab experience may include GMP/QSR environment, cross-functional teamwork, and independent experimentation in method development and validation.
  • Knowledge and understanding of GxP and related regulations is preferred; ability to provide expert insights to facilitate product registration is a plus.
