Senior Accountant (Contract) – 100% Remote

Location: 100% Remote (Supporting a manufacturing facility in Mississippi)

Duration: 6–8 Month Contract

Compensation: Up to $65/hour

Known for its commitment to operational excellence, safety, and continuous improvement, our client is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to support a key manufacturing facility based in Mississippi.

This is a great opportunity for a hands-on accounting professional with strong manufacturing experience who can step in quickly and make an immediate impact.

What You'll Do

• Lead and support the monthly financial close process for the manufacturing facility.
• Prepare and post journal entries.
• Perform account reconciliations and balance sheet variance analysis.
• Process product costing and manufacturing cost allocations.
• Analyze monthly plant cost variances.
• Prepare monthly financial statements and key performance indicator (KPI) reporting.
• Support asset componentization, retirements, and asset closures.
• Maintain documentation to ensure Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance.
• Assist with internal and external audits.
• Support annual budgeting and inventory/spare parts reviews.
• Partner with plant leadership and corporate finance on financial reporting and analysis.
• Participate in safety initiatives and continuous improvement efforts.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field.
• 5–7+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Manufacturing or plant accounting experience is strongly preferred.
• Experience working for a large public company is required.
• Hands-on SAP experience is required; SAP S/4HANA experience is a strong plus.
• Experience with month-end close, journal entries, account reconciliations, financial reporting, and cost accounting.
• Knowledge of SOX compliance and internal controls.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office skills.
• Strong analytical, organizational, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Detail-oriented with excellent problem-solving abilities.
• Must be able to successfully complete required drug and alcohol screening.
