Senior Accounting Consultant – GL, Close & Audit

Level: Strong Senior Accountant or a Hands on Accounting Manager Level

Location: Palo Alto, CA

Duration: 4 - 6 Months with potential for extension

Start Date: 2nd Week of September

A fast growth client of ours in Palo Alto is seeking a Senior Accounting Consultant to help support GL, reconciliation, month-end close, and audit processes. This is a hands-on role for someone who can independently investigate accounting issues, clean up historical balances, and build sustainable processes.

Responsibilities

• Perform detailed GL and balance sheet reconciliations
• Investigate and resolve aged, unusual, or unsupported balances
• Prepare JEs, accruals, reclasses, and cleanup entries
• Support month-end close and account cleanup
• Assist with audit PBC requests and supporting schedules
• Standardize reconciliation and close processes
• Document processes and transition responsibilities to the permanent team
• Research GL activity and resolve accounting issues

Qualifications

• Strong senior-level GL accounting and reconciliation experience
• Hands-on month-end close and audit support experience
• Strong U.S. GAAP and Excel skills
• Proven ability to investigate and resolve complex accounting issues
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
