Senior Accounts Receivable Specialist | Benicia, CA

We are seeking an experienced Senior Accounts Receivable Specialist to join a growing West Coast finance team in Benicia, CA.

This is a newly created opportunity for an AR professional who enjoys being a versatile problem-solver and can confidently manage customer accounts, reconciliations, collections, cash application, adjustments, and account research.

Location: Benicia, CA

Schedule: Hybrid — onsite Tuesday through Thursday

Employment: Full-time, non-exempt

What you'll do

• Manage customer account reconciliations and research discrepancies
• Apply ACH, wire, credit card, and other customer payments
• Monitor aging and conduct professional collection activities
• Resolve customer account questions and payment discrepancies
• Investigate unapplied cash and AR adjustments
• Maintain accurate customer account information
• Prepare aging and collection reports for management
• Collaborate with Sales, Accounting, Operations, and Customer Service
• Assist with credit assessment and bad-debt mitigation
• Contribute to process improvements and finance transformation initiatives

What we're looking for

• 2+ years of Accounts Receivable experience; broader AR experience preferred
• Strong account reconciliation and payment application skills
• Solid understanding of debits, credits, AR adjustments, and GAAP
• Experience with collections and customer account inquiries
• Intermediate to advanced Excel skills, including PivotTables and XLOOKUPs; advanced Excel/Macro experience is a plus
• Experience with an ERP system such as SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, Apprise, or similar
• Strong analytical, communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills
• High attention to detail and accuracy
• Associate's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred
