Location: Essex County, NJ

Salary: Up to $175,000, depending on experience

Project Focus: Commercial Interiors / Healthcare Construction

The Opportunity

A well-established general contractor is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead complex interior construction projects throughout Northern New Jersey.

The successful candidate will have a strong background managing commercial interior renovations from preconstruction through closeout. Experience delivering healthcare projects, including hospitals, medical centers, outpatient facilities or other occupied clinical environments, would be particularly valuable.

Responsibilities

• Lead commercial interior projects from preconstruction and estimating handoff through final completion
• Manage project budgets, schedules, contracts, procurement and overall financial performance
• Coordinate with clients, architects, engineers, subcontractors and internal project teams
• Oversee subcontractor buyout, scope reviews, change orders, RFIs and submittals
• Partner closely with Superintendents to resolve field issues and maintain project milestones
• Lead owner and subcontractor meetings and provide clear project reporting
• Identify schedule, cost and constructability risks before they affect project delivery
• Maintain high standards of quality, safety and client satisfaction
• Mentor Project Managers, Assistant Project Managers and Project Engineers where appropriate
• Support preconstruction efforts, including constructability reviews, logistics planning and project turnover

Qualifications

• Significant project management experience with a general contractor or construction manager
• Strong track record delivering commercial interior renovation and fit-out projects
• Healthcare construction experience is highly desirable
• Experience working in occupied, phased or technically sensitive environments would be beneficial
• Thorough understanding of construction contracts, cost control, scheduling and subcontractor management
• Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and communicate confidently with senior clients
• Strong knowledge of the New Jersey and greater New York construction market
• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture or a related discipline is preferred
