We’re partnering with a school district in New Haven County, Connecticut to hire dedicated Special Education Teachers for the 2026–2027 school year. This is an on-site opportunity in New Haven, CT with multiple openings across school sites.

As a Special Education Teacher, you’ll deliver individualized, specially designed instruction and case management support to help students with diverse learning needs access the curriculum and make meaningful progress toward IEP goals.

Position Details:

• Location: On-site, New Haven, CT
• Hours: 35 hours/week
• Pay: $53-$56/hour
• Schedule: Full-time
• School Year: 2026–2027

Responsibilities:

• Provide specially designed instruction aligned to students’ IEP goals and grade-level standards
• Develop, implement, and maintain IEPs, including progress monitoring and required documentation
• Differentiate instruction and modify materials/assessments to support student access and growth
• Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, and school teams to support inclusion and student success
• Support behavior, social-emotional, and executive functioning needs using positive, proactive strategies
• Communicate consistently with families and participate in meetings (IEP meetings, team meetings, conferences) as needed

Qualifications:

• Connecticut certification: #165 Comprehensive Special Education (K–12)
• Experience supporting students with a range of learning, behavioral, and/or developmental needs (school-based preferred)
• Knowledge of IEP development, compliance timelines, and documentation best practices
• Strong classroom management skills and ability to implement evidence-based interventions
• Strong collaboration and communication skills with students, families, and multidisciplinary teams
