Special Education Teacher [83492]

Onward Search Education is partnering with a school district in Providence County, Rhode Island to hire Special Education Teachers for the 2026/2027 school year. This is an on-site opportunity supporting elementary special education (Grades K–8) within specialized programs/classrooms.

As a Special Education Teacher, you’ll provide highly individualized instruction and targeted supports for students with disabilities, helping them access curriculum, build skills, and thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.

Position Details:

• Location: On-site
• Schedule: 35 hours/week
• School Year: 2026/2027

Responsibilities:

• Deliver individualized and small-group instruction aligned to student goals and present levels.
• Develop, implement, and maintain compliant IEPs (goals, accommodations, services, progress monitoring).
• Differentiate instruction and provide interventions using evidence-based special education practices.
• Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, and school teams to support inclusion and access.
• Implement classroom supports/structures as needed (e.g., sensory supports, adaptive tools, behavior supports).
• Communicate proactively with families and contribute to meetings, documentation, and progress updates.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Special Education or related field.
• Appropriate Rhode Island teaching licensure/certification for Special Education (or ability to obtain).
• Experience supporting students with disabilities in school-based settings (elementary preferred).
• Strong skills in classroom management, differentiated instruction, and progress monitoring/data collection.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams and communicate clearly with families.
