A growing healthcare services organization is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Staff Accountant to join its finance team. This role will support core accounting operations, maintain accurate financial records, and contribute to month-end close and financial reporting activities. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of GAAP, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and analyze journal entries, general ledger activity, and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Manage accounts payable processes and ensure timely and accurate transaction processing.
  • Perform account analysis and reconciliations to identify and resolve discrepancies.
  • Support payroll-related accounting activities while maintaining confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Assist with the month-end close process, including accruals, account reviews, and preparation of financial reporting.
  • Maintain accurate accounting records and perform high-volume data entry with a strong focus on accuracy.
  • Utilize Excel to analyze financial data, prepare reports, and support accounting functions.
  • Assist with maintaining compliance with GAAP and established accounting policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to resolve accounting issues and support broader finance initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Proven accounting experience in a corporate or professional services environment.
  • Solid understanding of GAAP and fundamental accounting principles.
  • Experience with journal entries, account reconciliations, balance sheet analysis, and general ledger accounting.
  • Experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, or similar platforms.
  • Strong Excel and Microsoft Office skills, including the ability to analyze and organize financial data.
  • Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and numerical aptitude.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential financial and employee information with discretion.
  • Healthcare industry experience is a plus, but not required.
