Location: Long Island City, NY

Compensation: $65,000 - $75,000 + Bonus + Benefits

Schedule: Hybrid (3 days in office, 2 days remote)

About the Opportunity

A growing consumer products and manufacturing organization is seeking a Staff Accountant to join its accounting team. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with finance leadership while supporting core accounting operations in a collaborative and fast-paced environment.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly analytical, tech-savvy, and eager to learn. Candidates with experience in manufacturing, food & beverage, consumer products, or distribution environments are highly preferred.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain the general ledger and record financial transactions accurately.
• Prepare journal entries and assist with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close.
• Perform account reconciliations and bank reconciliations.
• Support payroll accounting and invoice processing activities.
• Prepare financial reports, schedules, and analyses for management.
• Review financial records to ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting procedures.
• Investigate and resolve account discrepancies.
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and efficiencies.
• Maintain organized financial records and supporting documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting required.
• 2-4 years of accounting experience.
• Strong understanding of GAAP and general accounting principles.
• Advanced Excel skills, including Pivot Tables and VLOOKUPs.
• Experience working with ERP systems; NetSuite experience is a plus.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Manufacturing, food & beverage, consumer products, or distribution experience preferred.
