Staff Accountant

Staff Accountant | Consumer Products

A growing consumer products organization is seeking a motivated Staff Accountant to join its accounting team. This role offers exposure to a fast-paced business that supports both product distribution and online sales channels. The ideal candidate will have a strong accounting foundation, enjoy working in a collaborative environment, and be comfortable handling a variety of financial responsibilities while contributing to ongoing process improvements.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare recurring and non-recurring journal entries while ensuring the integrity of financial records and general ledger activity.

• Assist with month-end and year-end close procedures, including account analyses, reconciliations, and resolution of accounting variances.

• Perform balance sheet reconciliations and review financial transactions to ensure accuracy and compliance with company policies and accounting guidelines.

• Support indirect tax and corporate tax reporting activities by gathering information, maintaining documentation, and assisting with filing requirements.

• Work closely with cross-functional teams to provide accounting support and ensure financial information is properly recorded and reported.

• Review and maintain financial activity related to inventory, consumer products, and online sales transactions.

• help support ERP system processes, reporting enhancements, and accounting workflow improvements within NetSuite.

• Participate in special projects, operational initiatives, and other accounting-related assignments as the company continues to expand.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

• Minimum of 3 years of progressive accounting experience within public accounting or an industry environment.

• Strong understanding of general ledger accounting, account reconciliations, financial reporting, and journal entry preparation.

• Exposure to sales tax, corporate tax, or other compliance-related accounting functions.

• Experience working with NetSuite or a similar ERP platform preferred.

• Prior experience within manufacturing, distribution, consumer goods, or e-commerce environments is highly desirable.

• Familiarity with Avalara or other tax automation software is a plus.

• Strong analytical abilities, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
