Position Overview
Our client, a reputable and growing manufacturing company in Westchester, is seeking a Staff Accountant to join their dynamic team. The Staff Accountant will be responsible for supporting day-to-day accounting operations, cost accounting, maintaining accurate financial records, preparing account reconciliations, and assisting with month-end and year-end close processes.

Salary: up to $85K plus bonus
Key Responsibilities
- Perform general ledger account reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
- Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes.
- Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, and other accounting transactions.
- Standard costing and inventory accounting.
- Maintain accurate and organized accounting records and supporting documentation.
- Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable activities as needed.
- Reconcile bank, credit card, and other balance sheet accounts.
- Assist in preparing financial statements and management reports.
- Review transactions for accuracy and compliance with company policies.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and other financial analysis activities.
- Assist with audits by preparing schedules, reports, and supporting documentation.
- Monitor and maintain fixed asset records and depreciation schedules, as applicable.
- Research accounting issues and assist with resolving discrepancies.
- Ensure compliance with applicable accounting principles, company policies, and internal controls.
- Perform other accounting and financial duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
- 2–5 years of accounting experience; public accounting or corporate accounting experience is a plus.
- Strong understanding of general accounting principles and financial reporting.
- Manufacturing industry experience required
- Experience with general ledger accounting, reconciliations, and month-end close.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, including formulas, pivot tables, and data analysis.
- Experience with accounting software or ERP systems.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with other departments.
Preferred Qualifications
- CPA or CPA-track candidate is a plus.
- Experience with ERP systems such as NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics, SAP, Oracle, or similar platforms.
- Experience in a multi-location or growing organization.
- Familiarity with internal controls and audit procedures.
