Job Title: Document Technical Editor

Location: South San Francisco, CA 94080

Employment Type: W2 Contract – 12 Months with Possibility for Extensions

Pay Rate: $48.00–$51.10/hour – Determined based on experience (Paid Weekly)

Work Model: Fully Onsite

Role Overview

BEPC is seeking an experienced Regulatory Document Editor to support our customer’s nonclinical document management and regulatory submission activities in South San Francisco, CA.

This role provides critical support across the document lifecycle, scientific editing, quality control, data entry, and workflow coordination for nonclinical documents supporting multiple regulatory submission types. The Regulatory Document Editor will help ensure documents are accurate, complete, properly formatted, and delivered on schedule while meeting established global regulatory standards.


The ideal candidate has at least 2 years of scientific editing, writing, or document management experience, along with required knowledge of the drug development process and regulatory submissions. Strong project management, organizational skills, and proficiency with Microsoft Word are essential.


Key Responsibilities

Document Management & Processing

  • Manage and transfer documents across digital libraries, repositories, and established folder structures.
  • Accurately capture, identify, and apply metadata to documents and system records.
  • Initiate document records within tracking and document management systems.
  • Publish finalized documents and reports within the appropriate document management system.
  • Develop familiarity with internal processes, tools, and document management systems.
  • Retrieve missing information by researching historical archives and tracking down required data.
  • Maintain accurate and organized documentation throughout the document lifecycle.


Scientific Editing & Quality Control

  • Perform document quality control (QC) and verification to ensure readiness for regulatory submission activities.
  • Format, edit, and track nonclinical documents according to established editorial standards and templates.
  • Support documents including:
  • Nonclinical study reports
  • GLP statements
  • CRO reports
  • IND/BLA summaries
  • Other nonclinical regulatory documentation
  • Review documents for accuracy, completeness, consistency, and adherence to established standards.
  • Identify documentation issues that could result in submission corrections or delays.
  • Work with appropriate team members to resolve document or submission-related issues.


Workflow & Submission Coordination

  • Enter system data and accurately align documents with broader project and submission plans.
  • Assess and develop timelines for document deliverables.
  • Track document completion and support authors in meeting established deadlines.
  • Coordinate document handoffs and review cycles among subject matter experts, authors, publishing teams, and other stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with Development Sciences, Regulatory Affairs, Submission Managers, and other functional groups.
  • Serve as a resource to project and submission teams, including Pharmacology Subteams.
  • Support the timely delivery of high-quality, compliant documentation.
  • Manage multiple concurrent projects while meeting aggressive deadlines.


Content & Communications Support

  • Manage and maintain internal team websites or portals.
  • Create new internal content and perform routine updates to keep information current.
  • Serve as an editorial contact for documentation-related activities.
  • Communicate document processes, requirements, and timelines to team members and stakeholders.
  • Support continuous improvement of documentation workflows.
  • Leverage AI-augmented tools and automation, when appropriate, to improve documentation efficiency.


Required Qualifications

  • B.A./B.S. degree in English, Science, Communications, Liberal Arts, a health-related discipline, or a related field.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in scientific editing, scientific writing, or document management.
  • Knowledge of the drug development process and regulatory submissions is required.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills are required.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word.
  • Experience formatting, editing, reviewing, or managing complex technical or scientific documentation.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to document accuracy and quality.
  • Ability to anticipate and resolve issues that could affect document or submission timelines.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently and meet aggressive deadlines.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.
  • Solutions-focused approach to resolving document and workflow challenges.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with nonclinical regulatory documents.
  • Experience supporting regulatory submission documentation such as IND/BLA summaries, nonclinical study reports, GLP statements, or CRO reports.
  • Familiarity with electronic document management and tracking systems.
  • Experience coordinating document review, publishing, or submission workflows.
  • Experience collaborating with Regulatory Affairs, scientific authors, publishing teams, and other cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Experience using AI-augmented tools or automation to streamline documentation workflows and improve efficiency.
