Vice President for Licensure Assessment Services

Position Summary

NBOME is seeking an experienced VP for Licensure Assessment Services. The Vice President for Licensure Assessment Services (VPLAS) will be responsible for implementing NBOME’s strategic plan within the Licensure Assessment Services department. The VPLAS is responsible for oversight of all Licensure Assessment Services (LAS) department staff members and for representing NBOME and the Licensure Assessment Services department at meetings both internal and external to the organization, at the local and state/national levels. The VPLAS will oversee and organize the development and administration for all existing and new products of the Licensure Assessment Services department, including COMLEX-USA, COMSAE, and COMVEX. The VPLAS will additionally participate as a member of NBOME’s Executive Leadership Team.

Responsibilities

• Department Leadership and Oversight: Includes leadership of department activities, staff meetings and organization of Department, leadership roles in test committees and task forces, departmental reporting, budget development and expense management, and supervisory functions. Includes direct supervision of assigned team members.
• Product Development: Provide oversight of product development for COMLEX-USA and COMSAE examinations to ensure continuous product improvement and assessment quality consistent with the NBOME strategic plan. Organize the required analysis to support investment in new content development, test delivery or new assessment products.
• Relationship Management: Lead and foster relationship management with test delivery suppliers and other strategic vendors supporting the department. Collaborate with other departments across the organization to ensure high quality and high satisfaction for test publishing and delivery for all Licensure Assessment Services department products and services.
• NBOME Coordination: Serve as a member of NBOME’s Senior Staff, Executive Leadership Team, and, as needed, reporting to the NBOME Board and Board Committees (e.g., COMLEX-USA Composite Committee). Prepare and deliver, quarterly and as requested, a written report to the EVP of all activities of the Licensure Assessment Services department and the status of all projects and responsibilities and duties. Attend meetings of the Board of Directors and Executive Committee and attend other committee meetings as reasonably requested by the EVP
• Other duties as requested by supervisor or senior leadership staff

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree, required
• 10 year’s management experience, preferably in a testing organization.
• Has experience leading the exam development activities, budgeting, and marketing.
• Strong knowledge of psychometric principles
• Must understand content for COMLEX-USA and other assessments, some technical aspects of psychometrics, strategic use of AI, the ability to oversee project planning and implementation for complex organization needs and leadership skills for departments of over 30 employees.
