VP of Finance / CFO – Private Equity Real Estate

We are partnering with an established private equity real estate investment firm seeking an experienced Interim VP of Finance / CFO-level consultant to provide senior-level finance and accounting leadership.

This is a hands-on consulting opportunity for someone who understands the complexities of a real estate investment platform and can operate at both the strategic and execution level. The consultant will work closely with senior leadership and oversee key areas across fund accounting, corporate accounting, financial reporting, cash management, and the broader finance function.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide senior-level oversight of the firm's finance and accounting functions
• Oversee accounting and financial reporting across real estate investment funds and the management company
• Review fund-level financials, capital activity, investor allocations, and reporting
• Manage and review cash flow, liquidity, budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning
• Partner with investment and asset management teams on portfolio and fund-level financial matters
• Oversee quarterly and annual reporting processes
• Coordinate with external auditors, tax providers, fund administrators, and other third-party service providers
• Review and strengthen accounting processes, controls, and reporting infrastructure
• Provide leadership and mentorship to the existing accounting and finance team
• Support senior leadership with ad hoc financial analysis and strategic initiatives
• Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reporting, and scalability across the finance organization

Ideal Background

• Significant accounting and finance experience within private equity real estate, real estate investment management, or a similar investment platform
• Previous experience at the VP Finance, Controller, Head of Finance, or CFO level
• Strong understanding of both fund accounting and management company/corporate accounting
• Experience overseeing financial reporting, audits, tax coordination, budgeting, forecasting, and cash management
• Comfortable working directly with senior executives and investment professionals
• Strong technical accounting foundation with the ability to remain hands-on when needed
• Experience working with third-party fund administrators and other external service providers
• CPA and/or public accounting background preferred but not required
