Warehouse Operations Manager
Industry Leader is seeking a hands-on Warehouse Operations Manager to lead distribution, warehouse operations, inventory management, safety, transportation, and team performance in the Greater New York Area.
This is a floor-focused leadership role for an experienced distribution operator who can bring greater organization, accountability, data, and systems to a growing operation while earning the trust of an established team.
Responsibilities
- Own day-to-day distribution and warehouse operations, including receiving, storage, replenishment, picking, packing, shipping, delivery, staffing, scheduling, and workflow optimization.
- Drive inventory accuracy through strong controls, cycle counting, reconciliation, location management, root-cause analysis, and effective use of ERP/WMS systems.
- Lead warehouse safety, operational standards, SOPs, KPIs, and performance reporting while identifying bottlenecks and implementing sustainable improvements.
- Oversee transportation and delivery operations, including routing, scheduling, fleet activity, carrier relationships, freight costs, and applicable compliance requirements.
- Lead, coach, and develop warehouse employees and drivers; establish clear expectations, reinforce accountability, and guide the team through operational change.
Qualifications
- 10+ years of progressive distribution, warehouse, inventory, or operations leadership experience, with significant hands-on responsibility in high-volume distribution environments.
- Proven expertise in distribution and inventory management, including improving inventory accuracy, warehouse productivity, and operational performance.
- Experience directly leading warehouse teams and using ERP/WMS systems, KPIs, and operational data to drive measurable improvement.
- Strong understanding of warehouse safety, labor management, receiving, picking, shipping, fulfillment, and transportation operations; fleet or delivery experience preferred.
- Hands-on, data-driven leader with strong emotional intelligence who can set standards, make difficult decisions, hold teams accountable, and modernize established processes without losing employee engagement.
