Warehouse Operations Manager
Responsibilities & Duties
Facility & Operations Management
- Support the Operations Manager in overseeing daily warehouse operations, including supervisors, staff, processes, and resources.
- Provide leadership coverage during supervisor or manager absences to maintain productivity and workflow.
- Help develop and implement operational strategies, policies, and procedures to improve efficiency and performance.
- Assist with recruiting, training, and supervising staff to ensure high performance standards.
- Monitor KPIs and operational metrics, identify improvement opportunities, and implement solutions.
- Support budget management and ensure cost-effective use of resources.
- Coordinate with sales, marketing, logistics, and other departments to align operational goals.
- Oversee inventory control, stock audits, and loss prevention to optimize turnover.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, regulatory requirements, and safety standards.
- Resolve operational issues and customer concerns promptly and professionally.
- Promote a positive, team-oriented, continuous improvement culture.
Quality, Compliance & Safety
- Ensure adherence to quality standards, SOPs, and cGMP regulations.
- Work with the Quality team and complete training within the Quality Management System (QMS).
- Maintain warehouse safety, cleanliness, and proper working conditions.
- Support audit preparation and regulatory inspections.
- Enforce WHS procedures, incident reporting, and proper PPE usage.
Performance & Team Development
- Conduct regular team communications to set goals and action plans.
- Train, mentor, and develop warehouse staff.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure delivery schedules and deadlines are met.
Skills & Qualifications
- Post-secondary education preferred.
- 8+ years of supervisory experience in a warehouse environment.
- Strong knowledge of warehouse best practices; OSHA knowledge preferred.
- Forklift license required.
- Experience with WMS systems and RF scanners.
- Dangerous Goods certification and pharmaceutical/cGMP experience preferred.
- Familiarity with quality management software is an asset.
- Ability to lift up to 25kg and work in PPE as required.
- Intermediate Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
