Accountant

A leading global insurance organization is seeking an Accountant to join its growing finance team. This position offers strong visibility across the organization, exposure to complex accounting matters, and the opportunity to play a key role in process improvement and automation initiatives.

We are targeting candidates with either

• :3-4 years of Big 4 or top-tier public accounting experience, OR
• Corporate accounting experience from a large, publicly traded organization

Responsibilities

• Prepare and analyze monthly journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial reporting schedules
• Assist with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes
• Support financial statement preparation and reporting in accordance with U.S. GAAP
• Partner with finance, FP&A, treasury, and operational teams to ensure accurate financial reporting
• Assist with internal and external audit requests
• Research and document accounting issues and transactions
• Identify opportunities to streamline accounting workflows and improve reporting efficiency
• Support process improvement initiatives, automation projects, and optimization of accounting systems
• Leverage technology and data analysis tools to reduce manual processes and enhance reporting accuracy
• Participate in special projects and strategic finance initiatives as needed

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
• CPA, CPA track, or progress toward certification preferred
• 2-4 years of Big 4/top public accounting experience and/or corporate accounting experience within a large publicly traded company
• Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting princinciples
• Experience working with large ERP systems and financial reporting tools
• Demonstrated interest in process improvement, automation, and technology-driven accounting solutions
• Advanced Excel skills; experience with Power BI, Alteryx, Tableau, SQL, BlackLine, Workday, SAP, Oracle, or similar tools is a plus
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
