SUMMARY OF POSITION
The Accounts Payable Manager will help build Ad Populum’s accounts payable shared services function supporting multiple operating companies. The role will manage day-to-day AP operations, establish consistent processes and controls, improve efficiency through automation and process improvement, and help protect company cash through strong payment and vendor controls.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Manage day-to-day accounts payable operations across multiple Ad Populum businesses and establish consistent shared-services processes.
• Drive process improvement, automation and scalability across AP operations while eliminating non-value-added activities.
• Oversee accurate and timely processing of vendor invoices and resolution of invoice and payment issues.
• Maintain strong controls over cash disbursements and serve as a key line of defense in protecting company cash.
• Oversee weekly ACH and wire payments, including payment templates and related controls.
• Manage vendor onboarding, vendor master records and ongoing vendor maintenance.
• Support the monthly close process, including AP-related balance sheet reconciliations, accruals and reporting.
• Prepare information and supporting documentation for the annual audit as required.
• Ensure timely and accurate preparation and filing of annual 1099 reporting.
• Build, supervise and develop the accounts payable team as the shared-services function grows.
• Provide ad-hoc analysis and support to the Ad Populum finance team and participate in special projects as required.
QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or related field preferred.
• Minimum five (5) years of accounts payable experience, including at least three (3) years of supervisory experience.
• Strong understanding of accounts payable processes, internal controls, vendor management and cash disbursements.
• Strong communication, organizational and interpersonal skills with the ability to proactively identify and resolve issues.
• Detail-oriented with demonstrated ability to establish and follow consistent processes and procedures.
• Continuous-improvement mindset with experience identifying process enhancements and leveraging technology to improve efficiency.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; Sage 50 and Sage X3 experience preferred but not required.
