Title: Assembly Technician
Location: Batavia, IL
Duration: 12 months + potential ext
Work Setup: Onsite
We’re seeking a hands-on Assembly Technician to support the assembly, integration, inspection, and testing of specialized equipment for our customer.
What You’ll Do
- Assemble mechanical components and subassemblies using engineering drawings, procedures, and detailed work instructions.
- Use hand tools, power tools, precision measuring instruments, fixtures, and specialized assembly equipment.
- Support the installation of piping, vacuum components, instrumentation, cabling, and related hardware.
- Assist with inspections, leak testing, troubleshooting, and quality-control activities.
- Perform assembly work in cleanroom or controlled environments while following contamination-control procedures.
- Document completed work, measurements, test results, and discrepancies.
- Follow established safety, quality, and equipment-handling requirements.
What We’re Looking For
- Hands-on experience in soldering, mechanical assembly, precision manufacturing, equipment fabrication, or scientific instrumentation.
- Ability to interpret mechanical drawings, schematics, bills of materials, and assembly instructions.
- Experience using precision measuring tools and common hand and power tools.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety, quality, and accurate documentation.
- Practical troubleshooting skills and the ability to collaborate with a technical team.
Relevant Additional Experience
- Vacuum, cryogenic, pressure, or piping systems.
- Cleanroom assembly and contamination control.
- Helium leak detection, instrumentation, or electromechanical integration.
- Aerospace, semiconductor, advanced manufacturing, or laboratory equipment.
