Our client is a publicly traded, fast-growing provider of time-critical logistics and specialized medical services to the healthcare industry. They are looking for a Senior Accounting Manager to join a lean, high-visibility accounting team supporting a public company close process.
Location: NYC (4 days/week onsite)
Compensation: $120,000 to $150,000
What You'll Do
- Prepare and review journal entries, bills, and detailed accounting transactions in NetSuite
- Own month-end and quarter-end close procedures, ensuring timely and accurate results
- Drive process optimization and automation to improve the speed and accuracy of the close
- Prepare quarterly income statement and balance sheet analytics, documenting period-over-period fluctuations in an MD&A-ready format
- Partner with the SEC Reporting team on proper classification and presentation of income statement and balance sheet accounts
- Manage balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and resolution of reconciling items
- Collaborate with FP&A to ensure budgets and forecasts reflect current results and underlying drivers
- Support the SEC Reporting team with financial statement disclosures and supporting schedules
- Monitor new accounting standards and assess impact on the company's financial statements under U.S. GAAP
What We're Looking For
- 6-15 years of progressive accounting experience, combining public accounting (Top 20 firm) and/or private industry, outside of financial services
- CPA required, or CPA parts passed; candidates with strong public accounting backgrounds and no CPA will also be considered
- Excellent Excel skills
- Strong analytical ability — comfortable drawing conclusions from account activity and reconciliations, and identifying anomalies
- Experience building and standardizing financial reporting processes
- High attention to detail and accuracy in a fast-paced environment
- Comfortable working 4 days/week in a Manhattan office
Preferred
- Experience at a publicly traded company
- Hands-on NetSuite experience
- Experience with SOX documentation
- Exposure to a B2C, app-based business model
