Full job description
We’re seeking a part-time, in-person Staff Attorney to join a multidisciplinary team providing legal services, advocacy, and support to older adults and shelter residents.
Location: Bronx, NY
Schedule: 4 days per week | 9:00 AM–5:00 PM | In-office
Salary: $83,000–$100,000 annually
Seniority Level: Mid-Senior Level
About the Role:
This position will provide direct legal services, resident advocacy, and court representation throughout NYC and Westchester, including Family, Housing, and Supreme Court matters.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop legal strategies alongside social workers and other professionals
- Provide legal support and advocacy for shelter residents
- Conduct trainings and community outreach
- Assist with grant writing and reporting
- Support policy and legislative work focused on elder justice
- Build relationships with community partners, agencies, and law enforcement
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctorate and admission to practice law in New York State required
- Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills
- Experience with elder abuse, domestic violence, or victim advocacy preferred
