Strategic Benefits Leadership Opportunity
Our client is seeking an experienced Benefits Manager to lead the administration and strategic direction of a comprehensive employee benefits program. This is a high-visibility opportunity to partner closely with HR leadership and evaluate, enhance, and potentially rebuild the organization’s benefits strategy.
The ideal candidate is a strategic, analytical, and hands-on benefits professional who can balance day-to-day administration with long-term program strategy and employee experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead administration of medical, dental, vision, life, disability, retirement, leave, wellness, and other benefit programs.
- Partner with HR leadership to evaluate the effectiveness, competitiveness, and cost of existing programs and recommend improvements.
- Analyze utilization, participation, employee feedback, and market trends to identify opportunities for program enhancements.
- Lead annual renewals, including plan design, financial analysis, vendor evaluation, negotiations, and recommendations.
- Manage relationships with brokers, consultants, carriers, and third-party administrators.
- Oversee benefits budgets, forecasts, reporting, billing, and financial analysis.
- Ensure compliance with ERISA, ACA, HIPAA, COBRA, FMLA/CFRA, ADA, and other applicable regulations.
- Serve as the subject matter expert and escalation point for complex benefits matters.
- Lead and develop a team of two benefits professionals.
- Partner cross-functionally with HR, Payroll, Finance, Recruiting, and other stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 8+ years of progressive benefits or total rewards experience.
- Strong experience managing comprehensive employee benefits programs and annual renewals.
- Knowledge of applicable benefits laws and regulations.
- Experience with vendor management, plan design, budgeting, analytics, and negotiations.
- Proven people leadership experience.
- Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills; Workday experience strongly preferred.
- CEBS, CBP, SHRM-CP/SCP, PHR/SPHR, or similar certification preferred.
- Law firm or professional services experience preferred.

Compensation & Benefits
- Base Salary: $160,000 – $180,000 based on experience
- Performance-based incentive opportunities
