Senior Construction Litigation Attorney – Roseland, NJ
About the Opportunity
A well-established New Jersey law firm is seeking an experienced Construction Litigation Attorney to join its sophisticated litigation practice in Roseland.
This is an opportunity for a senior attorney to handle complex disputes arising from both public and private construction projects while working with a broad range of owners, developers, contractors, and other industry participants.
The incoming attorney will have meaningful responsibility for matters from inception through resolution, including the opportunity to develop case strategy, work directly with clients, appear in state and federal court, and handle sophisticated construction disputes alongside experienced litigators.
The position is well suited for an attorney who has developed substantial construction litigation experience and is looking for a platform offering high-level work, significant autonomy, direct client interaction, and long-term growth.
The Role
The attorney will handle a broad range of construction litigation and related matters involving public and private projects. Representative matters may include:
- Delay and disruption claims
- Change-order disputes
- Contract disputes and project terminations
- Construction lien and bond claims
- Bid protests and public contracting disputes
- Contract review, drafting, and negotiation
- State and federal court litigation
- Discovery, depositions, motion practice, hearings, and trial preparation
- Direct counseling of owners, developers, contractors, and other construction industry clients
The attorney will be expected to take substantial ownership of assigned matters and independently manage cases while collaborating with other members of the litigation team as appropriate.
Qualifications
- Approximately 6–10+ years of relevant construction law and litigation experience
- Significant experience handling construction disputes
- Experience with both public and private construction projects preferred
- Construction contract review and negotiation experience
- State and federal court litigation experience
- New Jersey and New York Bar admission required
- Trial experience is preferred
- Judicial clerkship experience is a plus
- Strong legal research, writing, analytical, advocacy, and client-service skills
- Ability to independently manage sophisticated matters and competing deadlines
