Commercial Construction Project Manager
A well-established and growing General Contractor is seeking an experienced Project Manager to join its team. This individual will be responsible for managing commercial construction projects from preconstruction through final closeout while working closely with Superintendents, subcontractors, clients, architects, and internal project teams.
Responsibilities
- Manage commercial construction projects from preconstruction through completion.
- Oversee project budgets, schedules, cost controls, and overall financial performance.
- Manage subcontractor bidding, selection, contracts, and performance.
- Coordinate closely with Superintendents and field teams throughout construction.
- Manage RFIs, submittals, change orders, pay applications, and project documentation.
- Lead project meetings with clients, architects, engineers, and subcontractors.
- Identify and resolve project risks, scheduling conflicts, and construction issues.
- Maintain strong relationships with clients and project stakeholders.
- Ensure projects meet company standards for safety, quality, schedule, and profitability.
- Manage project closeout, punch lists, and turnover.
- Mentor and support Assistant Project Managers and Project Engineers when applicable.
Qualifications
- 4+ years of commercial construction experience.
- Previous Project Manager or Assistant Project Manager experience with a General Contractor preferred.
- Experience managing commercial projects from preconstruction through closeout.
- Strong understanding of construction drawings, contracts, budgets, schedules, and subcontractor management.
- Excellent communication, organization, and leadership skills.
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred.
