Full job description

Good-Men Roofing & Construction, Inc. is seeking an experienced Construction Superintendent (Federal Construction) to oversee federal construction projects throughout California. This position is responsible for managing day-to-day field operations, quality control, safety compliance, subcontractor coordination, scheduling, and client communication to ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, and in accordance with contract requirements.


Responsibilities

  • Develop inspection procedures
  • Perform all planned inspections and document the related findings promptly
  • Assist in stakeholder and company team’s understanding of plans, specifications and schedule
  • Lead the close-out process under the direction of senior leadership and/or Project Manager
  • Coordinates all testing activities and confirms that results meet the Client’s requirements
  • Verify the project work is performed daily as planned and in conformance with plans and specifications
  • Ensure daily quality control reports are complete, thorough, accurate, and delivered in a timely manner in accordance with contract requirements
  • Manage communication with the Client and other stakeholders
  • Act as the company’s Agent at Construction Quality Control and Assurance meetings, and attend Preliminary, Initial and Follow-up contractor’s quality control (CQC) meetings
  • Provide technical expertise in the RFI and submittal processes
  • Supervise and train staff
  • Travel from time to time to various military bases (San Diego, El Centro, Coronado, China Lake, 29 Palms, and others)


Qualifications

  • USACE Construction Quality Management for Contractors Certification (Required)
  • EM 385-1-1 Certification (Required)
  • OSHA 30-Hour Certification completed within the last five years (Required)
  • 5-10 years of construction industry experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of NAVFAC, USACE, or other federal construction experience
  • Strong knowledge of construction means and methods, scheduling, and quality control processes
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills
  • Ability to travel to project sites throughout California, including military installations


Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Engineering, or related field
  • ECATT certification
  • Prior military construction experience
  • Experience managing projects valued at $5 million to $30 million+
