Controller

Our client is seeking an experienced Controller with a strong background in manufacturing to lead accounting operations and support strategic financial decision-making. This role is ideal for a hands-on leader who can oversee the close process, strengthen internal controls, and partner with operations to improve financial performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee all day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger, month-end close, account reconciliations, and financial reporting
• Prepare accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
• Lead cost accounting functions, including inventory valuation, standard costing, variance analysis, and margin reporting
• Partner with plant and operations leadership to monitor production costs, labor, and overhead
• Manage budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow planning
• Ensure compliance with GAAP, company policies, and internal controls
• Coordinate year-end audit activities and support external auditors
• Supervise and develop accounting staff
• Evaluate and improve accounting processes, reporting workflows, and ERP utilization
• Support capital expenditure tracking and fixed asset accounting

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership responsibility
• Prior Controller or Accounting Manager experience within a manufacturing environment required
• Strong knowledge of cost accounting, inventory, and standard costing
• Experience with month-end close, financial reporting, and internal controls
• ERP system experience required; advanced Excel skills preferred
