Full job description

A growing manufacturing organization is seeking an experienced Controller to lead all accounting and financial operations. This position will oversee financial reporting, month-end close, budgeting, inventory accounting, cost accounting, internal controls, and strategic financial planning while partnering closely with executive leadership to support continued growth and operational excellence.


Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee all accounting functions, including General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll, Fixed Assets, and Inventory Accounting.
  • Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
  • Prepare and analyze financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
  • Lead budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and long-range financial planning.
  • Monitor product costing, inventory valuation, margin analysis, and cost accounting activities.
  • Coordinate external audits, tax filings, and regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Partner with Operations and Sales leadership to identify opportunities for increased profitability and process improvement.
  • Develop, mentor, and lead accounting staff while strengthening internal controls and financial procedures.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across accounting and finance functions.


ERP Optimization & Process Improvement

  • Take ownership of a recently implemented SAP Business One (SAP B1) ERP system, focusing on stabilization, workflow optimization, and post-implementation enhancements.
  • Identify system configuration issues, audit financial data flows, and implement process improvements across the organization.
  • Partner with external consultants to improve AP and AR automation workflows, reduce manual processes, and enhance data accuracy.
  • Reconcile and clean up financial data resulting from post-go-live processing issues.
  • Collaborate with Accounting, Sales, and Operations teams to ensure cross-functional data integrity and reporting accuracy.
  • Develop scalable processes and controls to support future growth.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • 7-10+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience, including leadership responsibilities.
  • Manufacturing industry experience strongly preferred.
  • Strong experience with cost accounting, inventory accounting, and financial reporting.
  • SAP Business One (SAP B1) experience highly preferred.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of GAAP, internal controls, and financial analysis.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Experience working within ERP systems and leading process improvement initiatives.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to partner cross-functionally across operations, sales, and executive leadership.
