D3 Search is actively seeking a Director of Reporting & Pricing on behalf of a highly respected NY-based international law practice with a long-standing office in Los Angeles, CA (90067).
Position Title🎯:
Director of Reporting & Pricing
- Note: A minimum of 7 years’ experience handling pricing strategies and financial reporting in a law practice is REQUIRED.
Location/Map📌:
Los Angeles, CA 90067 (Century City)
Employment Status:
Full-time/direct-hire employment. 37.5-hour week. Exempt role.
Employer Work Model:
Hybrid 3 onsite/2 remote work model.
Position Summary📒:
The Director of Reporting & Pricing leads the development, analysis, and ongoing refinement of
the firm’s pricing strategies and financial reporting to support profitability, market
competitiveness, and data‑driven decision‑making. This role partners closely with firm
leadership, Practice Group leaders, Finance, Business Development, and the Data teams to
ensure pricing structures, matter setups, and rate configurations are accurate, consistent, and
streamlined for reliable reporting and strategic insight.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Manage the pricing/reporting and client/timekeeper data teams.
- Conduct performance evaluations for department staff.
- Review and approve timecards and PTO for department staff.
- Preparation of monthly and annual reports.
- Prepare ad hoc client reports including time detail, ledger history, and attorney
- assignments.
- Create reports to analyze firm financial metrics and profitability.
- Develop and prepare pricing proposals in response to RFP requirements while ensuring compliance with firm policies.
- Review client/matter/timekeeper data for accuracy.
- Assist in managing firm and client rates and annual increases.
- Answer questions that may arise regarding reports.
- Assist attorneys with producing and reporting on matter budgets and estimates.
- Organize, manage and review reports for consistency and accuracy (both data and
- recipients).
- Modify Aderant Inquiries and Security as needed.
- Ensure client rates are set up and reported on properly.
- Create SSRS or Power BI reports as needed.
Skills & Competencies💡:
- Possess advanced technical skills, including Aderant, Power BI, MS Excel and MS-SQL to gather data and organize and build reports to facilitate effective analysis. Working knowledge of Azure is a plus.
- Proficient in SQL query creation, analysis and validation.
- Possess excellent analytic and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think on your feet in a fast-paced environment, anticipate requirements, and consistently deliver exceptional customer service.
- Strong leadership skills to guide, motivate and develop team.
- Service‑oriented, highly organized, and able to effectively manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with individuals at all levels across the firm.
- Proven ability to work independently while quickly learning and adapting to new responsibilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey information clearly, concisely, and professionally.
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
- 5+ years’ experience, legal industry preferred.
- 3+ years’ managerial experience.
- Proficient in Aderant, SQL or Power BI, and advanced proficiency in MS Excel.
Education, Licensing & Certifications🗝:
- BA/BS degree.
Annual Compensation/Salary💰& Benefits:
Annual salary is up to 225K~DOE/DOQ and the law firm (employer) offers a comprehensive & robust health benefits package, 401K, generous PTO, paid parking onsite, hybrid 3/2 work model, annual reviews, lucrative bonuses, etc.
