Full job description
GSM is seeking a proactive and people-oriented Driver Training & Engagement Specialist to support driver onboarding, training, engagement, and communications initiatives. This role will focus on coordinating and delivering training activities, supporting driver engagement programs, and ensuring drivers receive timely and accurate information throughout their journey with GSM.
Working closely with Operations, Recruitment, HR, and local market teams, the Driver Training & Engagement Specialist will help create a positive and consistent experience for drivers while supporting operational readiness and service excellence.
Key Responsibilities
1. Driver Training & Onboarding
- Conduct driver onboarding and refresher training sessions according to GSM standards.
- Support the preparation and update of training materials, guides, assessments, and operational procedures.
- Ensure drivers complete all required training programs before deployment.
- Maintain training records and track attendance, completion, and certification status.
- Provide post-training support and answer driver questions related to operational procedures and service standards.
- Coordinate with Operations teams to ensure drivers are ready for deployment.
2. Driver Engagement
- Support the organization of driver engagement activities, recognition programs, events, and community initiatives.
- Build positive relationships with drivers and serve as a contact point for training and engagement-related matters.
- Gather driver feedback through surveys, meetings, and day-to-day interactions.
- Monitor participation in engagement activities and maintain related records.
- Escalate driver concerns and feedback to relevant stakeholders when necessary.
- Support initiatives aimed at improving driver satisfaction and retention.
3. Driver Communications
- Communicate operational updates, training schedules, policy changes, and important announcements to drivers.
- Support the management of driver communication channels, including community groups and messaging platforms.
- Ensure communication is accurate, clear, and delivered in a timely manner.
- Follow up with drivers to ensure key messages are understood and acknowledged.
- Support communication activities during operational campaigns and business initiatives.
4. Reporting & Coordination
- Prepare regular reports on training completion, engagement activities, and driver feedback.
- Maintain training and engagement databases with accurate and up-to-date information.
- Coordinate closely with Recruitment, Operations, and HR teams to support driver onboarding and development activities.
- Support ad hoc projects and initiatives related to driver experience, training, and engagement.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, Education, Communications, Psychology, or a related field.
- 2-4 years of experience in Training, Learning & Development, Operations, Community Management, Customer Service, or related functions.
- Experience conducting training sessions or facilitating group activities is preferred.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Good interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust and engage frontline workforces.
- Strong coordination and organizational abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced operational environment.
- Experience in transportation, logistics, mobility, ride-hailing, retail, or similar industries is an advantage.
