Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Electrical Design Engineer with strong expertise in hardware design, mixed-signal electronics, high-speed PCB design, power architecture, and board-level debugging. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience taking complex electronic designs from architecture and schematic development through PCB design, bring-up, validation, and production.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop mixed-signal analog and digital hardware.
- Develop high-speed PCB designs involving DDR3/DDR4, PCIe, and QSPI interfaces with strict impedance-control requirements.
- Design complex power-tree architectures, including DC-DC buck/boost regulators, LDOs, and power sequencing.
- Architect systems using ARM Cortex-M, RISC-V processors, microcontrollers, and FPGAs.
- Analyze and resolve signal integrity, power integrity, noise, crosstalk, and EMI/EMC issues.
- Work with communication protocols including I2C, SPI, UART, RS485, CAN, USB, and Ethernet.
- Perform hands-on hardware validation and debugging using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, VNAs, and spectrum analyzers.
- Perform component-level troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, component derating, and thermal-management analysis.
- Develop schematics and PCB designs using enterprise-level EDA tools, preferably Xpedition.
- Lead design reviews and provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior and mid-level engineers.
- Collaborate closely with firmware, software, mechanical, and cross-functional engineering teams.
- Support architectural trade-off analysis, component selection, project planning, and technical decision-making.
Required Qualifications
- 10+ years of relevant Electrical/Hardware Design experience.
- Strong experience in mixed-signal analog and digital design.
- Hands-on experience with high-speed PCB design, including DDR3/DDR4, PCIe, and QSPI.
- Strong knowledge of DC-DC converters, LDOs, power trees, and power sequencing.
- Experience with FPGA, ARM, and/or RISC-V-based systems.
- Strong understanding of signal integrity and EMI/EMC.
- Experience with I2C, SPI, UART, RS485, CAN, USB, and Ethernet.
- Hands-on experience using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, VNAs, and spectrum analyzers.
- Strong schematic development and PCB design experience.
- Experience with Xpedition or comparable enterprise PCB/EDA tools.
- Strong hardware troubleshooting and board-level debugging skills.
- Experience leading technical design reviews and mentoring engineering teams.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in aerospace, automotive, medical device, semiconductor, or other highly regulated industries.
- Experience with board bring-up and hardware validation.
- Knowledge of thermal management and component derating.
- Experience with FCC, CE, automotive, or aerospace compliance requirements.
- Experience with DDR5, PCIe Gen4+, or power-integrity analysis.
- FPGA board bring-up experience.
- Experience with Altium or Cadence Allegro.
- Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
