About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Family Law Attorney who is passionate about advocating for clients during some of the most important moments of their lives. The ideal candidate is confident managing cases independently while working collaboratively with attorneys and support staff.
Responsibilities
- Manage a full caseload of family law matters.
- Represent clients at hearings, conferences, mediations, and trials.
- Draft pleadings, motions, certifications, briefs, discovery, and settlement agreements.
- Conduct legal research and develop litigation strategies.
- Maintain regular communication with clients throughout their cases.
- Negotiate favorable settlements while preparing every case for litigation when necessary.
- Collaborate with attorneys, paralegals, and administrative staff.
- Maintain accurate time records and billing.
- Meet or exceed the firm's annual billable hour expectation.
Qualifications
- Active license to practice law in the State of New Jersey.
- Minimum of 3 years of New Jersey family law experience, whether through private practice, a judicial clerkship, or another legal setting focused on family law.
- Experience independently handling family law matters from inception through resolution.
- Courtroom experience, including hearings, motion practice, conferences, and client advocacy.
- Strong legal writing, research, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Excellent organizational and case management abilities.
- Ability to manage deadlines while maintaining exceptional client service.
