Full job description

A rapidly growing Japanese Corporate Venture Capital firm is on the market for a bilingual Finance & Operations Manager to join its US team.

*San Francisco or Seattle candidates preferred, though the firm is open to fully remote candidates elsewhere in the U.S. who can coordinate across time zones (PST)*

This is a newly created, full-time seat sitting at the intersection of investment transaction operations, fund administration, and corporate treasury. You'll coordinate investment transactions end-to-end with headquarters and outside counsel, assist with capital calls and fund reporting with external fund administrators across multiple U.S. investment entities, and own day-to-day treasury work — cash positioning, bank reconciliations, and short-term cash flow forecasting. You'll also serve as the primary bilingual liaison between U.S. entities and the Japan-based headquarters on finance and investment matters, so business-level Japanese and English are both required for this role.

What You'll Do

  • Investment Transactions: Coordinate deal execution end-to-end with headquarters and external stakeholders, including structuring, securities settlement, and regulatory compliance across direct investments and fund deals.
  • Fund Administration: Manage capital call notices, management fee payments, and reporting packages with external fund administrators across multiple U.S. fund entities.
  • Treasury: Handle daily payment processing, cash positioning, and short-term cash flow forecasting; maintain and reconcile corporate bank accounts.
  • HQ Liaison: Serve as the bilingual bridge between Japan headquarters and U.S. entities on finance and investment matters, including quarterly reporting and business plans.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • 3+ years of experience in finance, accounting and/or operations
  • Business-level proficiency in both English and Japanese, written and spoken
  • Venture Capital, Private Equity or Investment Management experience preferred
  • Capable of working PST timezones
  • Strong Excel skills; ERP/accounting systems experience a plus
  • CPA, CFA, or equivalent a plus
