About the Client


A medical device manufacturing organization is seeking a Financial Analyst to support its corporate & commercial financial planning and analysis (FP&A) function.


Position Overview


The Financial Analyst supports leadership in delivering timely, accurate financial insights that inform strategic and operational decisions across the organization. Working collaboratively with Finance, Operations, Manufacturing, QA/Engineering, and other cross-functional partners, the Financial Analyst helps translate complex financial and manufacturing data into clear, actionable recommendations for leadership.


We are seeking a detail-oriented, analytically minded professional who can operate effectively in a highly regulated, fast-paced manufacturing environment. The Financial Analyst plays a key role in budgeting, forecasting, cost analysis, and reporting, and contributes directly to the financial integrity and operational efficiency of the organization.


Responsibilities


Financial Planning & Analysis

  • Partners with leadership to develop, manage, and refine the annual budget, quarterly forecasts, and long-range financial plans.
  • Builds and maintains financial models to support cost analysis, product line profitability, and manufacturing variance reporting (labor, material, and overhead).
  • Develops and tracks key performance indicators (KPIs) across departments, identifying trends, risks, and opportunities for cost optimization.
  • Supports pricing analysis and margin analysis for new and existing product lines.


Operational Finance & Reporting


  • Prepares monthly financial reporting packages, including variance analysis (actual vs. budget vs. forecast) for executive leadership and department heads.
  • Analyzes manufacturing costs, standard costing, and inventory valuation in partnership with Operations and Supply Chain teams.
  • Supports month-end and quarter-end close processes, including journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations related to FP&A activities.
  • Assists with capital expenditure analysis and ROI modeling for new equipment, product lines, or facility investments.


Compliance, Risk & Administration


  • Ensures compliance with internal controls, GAAP, and relevant regulatory and audit requirements specific to the medical device industry.
  • Prepares ad hoc financial analyses and presentations for executive leadership, board meetings, and cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Identifies opportunities to improve financial processes, reporting efficiency, and data accuracy through automation and system enhancements.

Requirements


  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field required.
  • Minimum 4 years of progressive experience in FP&A, corporate finance, or a related analytical finance role.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel (financial modeling, pivot tables, complex formulas); experience with financial planning software a plus.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP, IFRS, and standard financial/accounting principles.
  • Ability to analyze, interpret, and communicate complex financial information clearly and effectively to diverse audiences, including leadership and cross-functional business partners.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to build effective working relationships across departments and stakeholder groups.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Previous experience in medical device manufacturing or a related field preferred.
  • Familiarity with standard costing, inventory accounting, and manufacturing variance analysis preferred.
  • Experience with ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics) preferred.
  • Exposure to FDA-regulated or ISO 13485 quality environments preferred.
  • MBA, CFA, or progress toward CPA a plus.


Work Environment and Physical Requirements


  • This is a hybrid position requiring a combination of remote work and regular in-office attendance based on business needs and company policy.
  • Work is primarily performed in a professional office and home office environment.
  • Requires prolonged periods of sitting and working at a computer, including frequent use of a keyboard, mouse, and multiple computer monitors.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively via telephone, video conferencing, and in person.
  • Requires the ability to review, analyze, and interpret financial data, reports, and electronic documents with attention to detail.
  • May occasionally be required to move or transport office materials weighing up to 15 pounds.
  • Requires the ability to remain stationary for extended periods while performing analytical and administrative tasks.

Compensation


Starting compensation range of $85,000.00 - $95,000.00 annually. Exact compensation will be determined by experience, education, licensure/certifications, and location, in accordance with applicable laws.
