Fitness Coach – Orangetheory Fitness Tuckahoe
Part-Time | On-Site in Tuckahoe, NY | $25–$80 per hour, tiered by class attendance
COMPANY DESCRIPTION
Orangetheory launched in 2010 and has taken the boutique fitness industry by storm with smart, science-backed workouts designed to supercharge metabolism. Headquartered in Boca Raton, Florida, with more than 1,300 studios in 25 countries, Orangetheory pairs heart rate-based interval training with real-time technology so members can track their results as they happen. Every class is led by a certified coach who personalizes the workout to make sure no member overtrains or undertrains. Our goal is to help members achieve more results, build more confidence, and live a more vibrant life.
ROLE DESCRIPTION
This is a part-time, on-site Fitness Coach role at Orangetheory Fitness in Tuckahoe, New York. As a Fitness Coach, you will lead group heart rate-based interval training classes and provide fitness instruction to up to 39 participants at a time. Coaching efficient, high-energy classes is the core of the job, but what sets a great Orangetheory coach apart is the ability to create an inclusive, engaging, and supportive environment for every member and class-goer – in the workout room and in the lobby.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Lead Orangetheory's daily workout as designed, coaching the treadmill, rowing, and floor blocks with clear cues, proper form, and intensity options for every fitness level
- Personalize the experience: learn members' names, goals, and limitations, and use real-time heart rate data to guide each person's effort
- Put safety first: screen for injuries and modifications, demonstrate correct form, and uphold equipment and studio safety standards
- Own the member experience outside the workout room: greet members in the lobby, welcome first-time visitors, and follow up on their results
- Partner with the front desk and sales team to turn intro classes into memberships and support studio events, challenges, and retention efforts
- Maintain full certification status and keep your credentials current in Orange University
- Help keep the studio running smoothly: class setup and breakdown, equipment checks, and cleanliness standards
QUALIFICATIONS – REQUIRED
- Strong fitness instruction and coaching skills, with the ability to lead a full room while giving individual attention
- Understanding of the fitness industry and current trends
- Excellent communication and motivation skills; comfortable on the mic in a high-energy environment
- Ability to work well with a diverse range of individuals, fitness levels, and personalities
- Passion for health, wellness, and helping others reach their fitness goals
- Availability to coach a consistent weekly schedule, which may include early mornings, evenings, and weekends
