Full job description

We are working with an incredibly well funded Robotics startup who are looking for their first global supply chain manager. If you've built the supply chain for hardware startups or the best consumer electronics companies in the world this is could be the role for you.

We’re looking for a Global Supply Chain Manager to build and manage the supply chain for our robots.

You’ll own the sourcing and procurement of the components that go into our robots, working closely with engineering, manufacturing, and operations to make sure we have the right parts, from the right suppliers, at the right cost and quality.

This is a highly hands-on role. You’ll identify and qualify suppliers, negotiate pricing and terms, manage component availability, and build relationships with manufacturers and vendors around the world. You’ll have significant ownership and influence over how we build our supply chain from the ground up.

What You’ll Do

  • Own sourcing and procurement for mechanical, electrical, electronic, and other robotic components
  • Develop and maintain a global supplier network across the US, Asia, Europe, and other relevant markets
  • Source components from engineering BOMs and identify qualified suppliers and manufacturing partners
  • Evaluate, qualify, and onboard new suppliers
  • Negotiate pricing, lead times, MOQs, payment terms, tooling, and other commercial terms
  • Manage supplier relationships and drive suppliers toward cost, quality, and delivery targets
  • Work closely with engineering to identify alternative components, suppliers, and manufacturing processes
  • Partner with manufacturing and operations to ensure components are available when needed for builds and production
  • Own component availability and proactively identify supply-chain risks and bottlenecks
  • Establish and manage sourcing strategies for critical and high-volume components
  • Track component costs and help drive cost-down initiatives as we scale
  • Coordinate prototype, pilot, and production builds with suppliers and contract manufacturers
  • Help establish processes and systems for purchasing, inventory, forecasting, and supplier management
  • Travel internationally as needed to visit suppliers, factories, and manufacturing partners
  • Build the supply-chain organization and infrastructure as the company scales

What We’re Looking For

  • 5+ years of experience in supply chain
  • ideally in robotics, hardware, automotive, aerospace, consumer electronics, or another complex hardware environment
  • Strong experience sourcing physical components and working directly with manufacturers and suppliers
  • Experience managing suppliers internationally, particularly in Asia
  • Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical components, manufacturing processes, and BOMs
  • Demonstrated ability to negotiate pricing, lead times, and commercial terms
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong project management and organizational skills
  • Ability to work effectively with engineering and manufacturing teams
  • Willingness to get into the details and solve problems directly rather than managing exclusively through others
  • Comfortable operating in a fast-moving startup environment with incomplete information and changing priorities
  • Willingness to travel internationally

Nice to Have

  • Experience building a supply chain from the ground up at an early-stage company
  • Experience with robotics or electromechanical systems
  • Experience sourcing motors, actuators, gearboxes, sensors, cameras, batteries, PCBs, connectors, machined parts, injection-molded parts, or other robotic components
  • Existing relationships with suppliers and manufacturers in China, Taiwan, Southeast Asia, Mexico, or other major manufacturing hubs
  • Experience with contract manufacturers and EMS providers
  • Experience taking hardware from prototype through pilot production and high-volume manufacturing
  • Familiarity with ERP/MRP and procurement systems
  • Technical background in mechanical, electrical, industrial, or manufacturing engineering

Why Join Us

You’ll have the opportunity to build the supply chain behind a new generation of robots from the ground up. This is a high-impact role where your decisions will directly influence our product cost, quality, reliability, and ability to scale. The opportunity to work on the future and the opportunity to work with a CEO who's had successful exits.
