HR Generalist / HR Operations Specialist
Location: Irvine, CA
Schedule: Hybrid – 3 days onsite, Tuesday–Thursday
Employment Type: Temp-to-Hire
Experience: 3–5 years

Green Key is partnering with an established organization in Irvine, CA, to identify an HR Generalist / HR Operations professional to join their team.
While the title is HR Generalist, this position is heavily focused on HR Operations, Talent Acquisition, onboarding/offboarding, process improvement, and employee development. The ideal candidate will be highly organized and process-driven but also genuinely enjoy working with people.
This is a great opportunity for someone who likes to stay busy, take ownership, and look beyond simply completing a task. We're looking for someone who naturally asks "why?" and looks for ways to improve processes rather than approaching HR as purely transactional.
The position is structured as temp-to-hire, with the expectation of conversion within the first three months for a strong performer.
Key Responsibilities
HR Operations & Administration
- Manage day-to-day HR operations and maintain accurate employee information and records.
- Utilize Workday to manage and maintain employee data and HR processes.
- Support the development and implementation of HR policies, procedures, and processes.
- Ensure HR processes and documentation remain compliant with applicable employment laws and regulations.
- Identify opportunities to streamline and improve HR processes.
- Maintain organized and accurate HR documentation.
- Onboarding & Offboarding
- Coordinate the full onboarding process for new hires.
- Conduct and coordinate new hire orientations and onboarding activities.
- Ensure new employees receive appropriate information regarding company policies, procedures, and benefits.
- Coordinate offboarding activities and ensure all required steps and documentation are completed.
- Assist departing employees with COBRA and benefits-related processes as needed.
Talent Acquisition
- Manage full-cycle recruiting for assigned positions.
- Partner with hiring managers to understand hiring needs and develop effective recruiting strategies.
- Write and post job descriptions.
- Source and identify qualified candidates through LinkedIn and other recruiting channels.
- Demonstrate the ability to hunt for and engage passive candidates.
- Conduct candidate screening and coordinate interviews.
- Support background checks, offer preparation, and other pre-employment processes.
- Recruiting volume will vary based on organizational hiring needs.
- Employee Development & Performance
- Support the employee performance review process.
- Help ensure career paths and employee development opportunities are clearly mapped out.
- Coordinate training and development initiatives.
- Support programs designed to improve employee engagement, development, and retention.
Employee Experience & Culture
- Serve as an HR resource and brand ambassador for the organization.
- Help communicate company programs, policies, culture, and values to employees.
- Explain and promote company benefits to new hires.
- Provide a high level of customer service to employees and managers.
- Partner with leadership to support a positive, collaborative, and high-performing workplace culture.
What We're Looking For
- 3–5 years of HR experience, preferably with a strong HR Operations and Talent Acquisition background.
- Workday proficiency is required.
- Hands-on experience with full-cycle recruiting.
- Demonstrated LinkedIn sourcing experience, including the ability to identify passive candidates.
- Experience with onboarding and offboarding processes.
- Experience writing and posting job descriptions.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and follow-through.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience preferred.
