Human Resources Generalist

The Role
The HR Generalist is responsible for supporting and administering core HR functions throughout the employee lifecycle, with primary responsibility for HR operations, employee records, onboarding, employee changes, HR inquiries, and HR process improvement. The position also provides recruiting support for corporate positions and internal career opportunities.
What You Will Do
- HR Operations & Employee Lifecycle:
- Manage routine HRIS transactions related to onboarding, transfers, promotions, employee status changes, and termination processes, ensuring lifecycle processes are completed accurately and timely.
- Develop, maintain, and continuously improve HR checklists, workflows, SOPs, and process documentation.
- Maintain and audit personnel files, including identifying and resolving discrepancies and ensuring required documentation is complete and saved.
- Own the HR inbox, respond to routine employee questions and appropriately escalate matters requiring additional expertise and support.
- Proactively identify gaps in routine HR processes and independently develop and implement solutions to improve efficiency, consistency, and employee experience.
- Recruiting & Internal Mobility:
- Support corporate recruiting through job postings, interview coordination, candidate communications, and offer-to-onboarding transition.
- Coordinate internal job postings, promotions, and transfers, ensuring appropriate documentation and HRIS updates are completed.
What You Will Bring
- A bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field is required
- 4+ years of progressive experience in Human Resources, preferably in HR Operations or HR Generalist environment
- Strong knowledge of employee lifecycle processes
- Demonstrated ability to independently manage processes and projects
- Exceptional organization, attention to detail, judgment, and follow-through
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office
- Paylocity and Salesforce experience preferred
Additional Details
- Employment Type: Regular, full-time
- Salary Type: Salaried, exempt
- Pay: $60,000 - $75,000
- Work Location: Hybrid based out of our Burr Ridge, IL headquarters
- Transportation: Must have reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license
