Human Resources Manager – Lathrop, CA

Fulltime, Onsite


Position Overview

The Human Resources Manager serves as the primary HR leader for a high-volume, 24/7 food and beverage manufacturing facility. This role partners with plant and corporate leadership to manage employee relations, compliance, recruiting, performance management, and talent development while supporting a safe, productive workplace.


Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the site expert on California and federal employment law, including wage/hour, FEHA, CFRA, PDL, PAGA, and leave requirements.
  • Lead, coach, and develop the HR Generalist team.
  • Manage complex employee relations matters, investigations, corrective actions, and performance management.
  • Partner with legal counsel on employment claims and workplace issues.
  • Lead full-cycle recruiting for hourly and salaried positions.
  • Identify compliance risks and implement policies, training, and process improvements.
  • Support leaves of absence and reasonable accommodation processes.
  • Partner with plant leadership on workforce planning and organizational needs.
  • Use HR metrics and HRIS data to identify trends and support business decisions.
  • Maintain accurate HRIS records and employee documentation; Paylocity experience preferred.
  • Support training programs and ensure compliance with GMP, GFSI, and safety requirements.
  • Provide HR support across a 24/7 manufacturing operation.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business, or related field.
  • 5+ years of progressive HR leadership experience and 3+ years managing an HR team.
  • Strong expertise in California labor and employment law is required.
  • Experience handling complex employee relations and investigations.
  • Manufacturing, food/beverage, or regulated production experience preferred.
  • Strong HRIS experience; Paylocity preferred.
  • Excellent communication, judgment, confidentiality, and leadership skills.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
  • PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP preferred.
