Major, Lindsey & Africa’s Interim Legal Talent group is seeking an Interim to Permanent FIFRA Regulatory Specialist for the next 3 months, with conversion to permanent.
Overview: We are seeking an Interim to Permanent FIFRA Regulatory Specialist to support the management of regulatory compliance activities for our biocide portfolio of antimicrobial pesticides and to oversee regulatory risk management programs, including company, third-party, and regulatory agency audits, while helping ensure ongoing compliance across the biocide business within a multi-billion-dollar chemical manufacturer in the Chicagoland area.
Company: Publicly traded, global manufacturer of chemical and specialty products.
Experience: 3-5+ years of experience working within chemical regulatory experience and FIFRA label review
Location: On-site Monday-Thursday in Northbrook, IL.
Responsibilities Include:
Working within the Biocide Regulatory Team, and supporting the management of regulatory compliance activities for our biocide portfolio of antimicrobial pesticides, this role is responsible for overseeing regulatory risk management programs, including company, third-party, and regulatory agency audits, while helping ensure ongoing compliance across the biocide business. The Regulatory Specialist will work closely with internal stakeholders and external partners to support the company’s network of biocide formulators and sub-registrants. Particular details include:
Managing Biocide Formulator Audit Program
- Identify and prioritize formulator companies for audit activities and coordinate audit readiness with key business contacts.
- Serve as the primary liaison for internal, third-party, and regulatory agency audits.
- Manage relationships and activities with external audit service providers.
- Review audit findings and develop corrective action reports outlining required actions, timelines, and compliance expectations.
Department-Wide Coordination
- Serve as a central coordination point across Corporate Legal, Regulatory, Trade Compliance, and related business stakeholders based on evolving priorities and direction from the General Counsel
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, documentation, templates, trackers, and information flow
- Maintain organization, accessibility, and accuracy of key legal, compliance, board, and governance records
Confidential Project & Executive Initiative Support
- Support confidential special projects and executive initiatives on behalf of the General Counsel by coordinating materials, tracking action items, and managing follow-up as directed
- Manage action items, deadlines, stakeholder follow-up, and deliverables for high-visibility matters
- Take ownership of assigned tasks and ensure timely, high-quality completion with limited direction
Qualifications Include:
- Bachelor's from an accredited University or College (within chemistry, science or adjacent preferred)
- 3 – 5+ years of regulatory experience with a chemical company.
- FIFRA registration experience required; experience with Antimicrobials is beneficial.
- Experience with FIFRA label review.
Pay Rate: $50+/hour
Individual compensation offered for this position within the pay range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
