Legal Counsel

A leading alternative investment firm is seeking a Corporate Associate to join its in-house legal team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a corporate attorney looking to transition from private practice into a dynamic in-house role supporting a broad range of corporate and transactional matters.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide legal support on a variety of corporate transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, investments and strategic initiatives.
• Draft, review and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements and transaction documents.
• Advise on corporate governance matters, entity management and internal reorganizations.
• Support financing transactions and other general corporate legal matters.
• Partner closely with investment professionals, senior management and external counsel on day-to-day legal issues.

Requirements:

• J.D. from an accredited law school and admission to practice in New York (or ability to waive in).
• Approximately 4+ years of experience at a leading law firm.
• Broad corporate transactional experience, including exposure to M&A and general corporate matters.
• Experience advising private equity firms, investment managers or other financial institutions is preferred.
• Strong drafting, negotiation and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple matters in a fast-paced environment.
