🚀 Hiring: Legal Subject Matter Expert (SME) | Mountain View, CA | Hybrid (2 Days Onsite)
📍 Location: Mountain View, California (Candidates must be based in or near Silicon Valley)
🏢 Work Model: Hybrid – 2 Days Onsite per Week
📄 Contract Type: 1099 Independent Contractor
⏳ Duration: 6 Months
🕒 Commitment: 35 Hours per Week

Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced Legal Subject Matter Expert (SME) to support AI research initiatives by providing legal expertise and evaluating research outputs. You will collaborate with research and engineering teams to improve AI systems that require legal reasoning and domain knowledge.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide legal expertise to multidisciplinary research teams.
- Review AI-generated legal content for accuracy and compliance.
- Analyze legal documentation, regulations, and case materials.
- Support development and refinement of AI research methodologies.
- Recommend improvements based on legal standards and best practices.
- Document findings and collaborate across teams.
- Stay current with evolving laws and legal frameworks.
Required Qualifications
- JD, LLB, LLM, or equivalent legal qualification.
- 10+ years of professional legal experience.
- Strong analytical and legal reasoning skills.
- Experience reviewing legal contracts, regulations, or compliance documentation.
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
